Greater Louisville Trianing Club's December 2005 Tracking Event
GLTC TD/TDX TEST, SHELBY ACRES, DECEMBER 4, 2005
GLTC’s tracking test was a huge success. Thanks to all of you who supported our club.
The weather was a bit cold, but the ground was still moist from the prevous rain, making tracking conditions great. We had our dedicated track layers with stinky feet. We had two sets of Judges. For the TD, they were Karen Armstrong and Ralph Sneve. For the TDX, the judges were Billie French and Annette Rossman.
The new AKC rules state that if there is an alternate track that is not used, the track can be run by the first alternate present. On the TD, we had five slots and one alternate run, and had four out of six entries pass. On the first track was a bloodhound from Cincinnati, who passed on a track layed by Terry McGauley. The second track went to Jim Jenkins with his Emmy Lou, he failed, tracklayer was Ken Wallace. Track three was run by
Myrna Keenan with her Boots, she failed, track layer was Terry Van Hook. Track four
Was run by Joe Jones and a golden retriever, who did a fine job and passed. Track layer was Terry Van Hook. Track five was run by a German Shepherd handled by
Lyle Gillespie, passed with track layer Terry McGauley. The alternate who was able to run this track was our Becky Manenti with her yellow lab. The dog did a great job, handled by Trish Simon. There were some nervous moments in the bunkhouse while the track was being run. This retired Simba. The track layer was Annette Rossman.
The TDX had eighteen entries and only two tracks. On the first track was
Connie Haddad with Angel. She did a good job but did not pass. Ralph Sneve layed that track. The second track was run by Mike Jankoswki and his beagle. Karen Armstrong layed that track. He also failed. The alternate track was not used and given to
Terry VanHook with her schipperke. Tracklayed by Terry McGauley. The schipperke
Passed, and again there were a lot of happy people. Thanks to our two cross trackers,
Karen Veleta and Kathy Fowler.
Special thanks to Becky Manenti for volunteering to head the hospitality for Sunday.
Lucinda baked her specialties, and food was donated by quite a few members present.
We are so very grateful to Lisa Davis and the Swopes for letting us use their land.
Keep on tracking!
